It is with heavy hearts that we announce the sudden passing of John ‘Jackie’ Snow, at home on Thursday, March 4, 2010.
Born in Sydney, he was the son of the late James and Mary (O’Neil) Snow.
A lifelong resident of Sydney, he worked at CN Railway for 45 years.
John is survived by his wife, Mary (MacEachern), North Sydney; son, John (Sheila) Snow, North Sydney; daughter, Phyllis (Terrance) Murphy, East Bay; sister, Ruby (Gerald) Skinner, Westmount; four grandchildren, John, North Sydney, Jeff, Halifax, Margaret Ann, Sydney and Louise, East Bay; three great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, John was predeceased by his first wife, Louise (Steele); sisters, Mary Ellis, Jean Howie, Elsie Joudrie and Tillie MacLellan; brothers, Ted, Ned, Jimmy and Fred Snow.
There will be no visitation. A celebration of John’s life will be held at Sydney Memorial Chapel on Monday 11 a.m., with Rev. Robert Lyle officiating. Interment in Forest Haven Memorial Gardens.
