Zenon Léger, 93, formerly of Shediac Bridge, passed away on Saturday, March 6, 2010 at the Villa Providence, Shediac following a lengthy illness. Born September 28, 1916 in Coal Branch, NB, he was the son of the late Alfred and Régina (Allain) Léger. He was an insurance agent and co-owner of Edmond Leger Insurance Co. in Leominster, MA, prior to his retirement. Zénon is survived by his beloved wife of 68 years, Wilma (Léger) Léger; his three loving children: Bernice Fougère (Armand) of Leominster, MA, Ronald of Mission, B.C., and Laurie (Robin) of Aurora, ON; four grandchildren: Armand \"Jr.\", Tina, Joey, and Luke; five great-grandchildren: Katie, Patty, Danielle, Amanda, Jamie; a sister, Bertha Develin of St. Stephen, a brother, Elie (Marguerite) of California, and by many nieces, and nephews. Besides his parents, he is predeceased by several brothers and sisters; Gérald, Noëlla, Marie, Victor, Désiré, and Roger.
In keeping with his wishes, there will be no visiting hours at the funeral home. Funeral mass will be celebrated at La Visitation Roman Catholic Church, Grande-Digue, on Thursday, March 11, 2010 at 11 a.m. Interment will be in Saint-Antoine Parish Cemetery in the spring.
