Joseph ‘Joe’ Peter MacNeil, aged 90, Soldier’s Cove, Cape Breton passed away at home on, Tuesday, March 4, 2010, of heart failure.
Born June 10, 1919 in Glace Bay, N.S., son of Tom P. and Jessie MacNeil, husband to Olive MacNeil (Herbert) of Arnprior pre-deceased in 1998.
Predeceased by siblings, Sr. Joseph Peter, Sr. Mary Jessica, Theresa (Andrews), Peter, Alexander Thompson, John James and Rev. Roderick Joseph.
Survived by siblings, Julia (Muir), Rosella (MacNeil) and Jessie (O’Keefe). Survived by children, Thomas (Sharon), Beverly Chapman (Bob), Patricia, Roderick (Susan), Sally, Richard (Caroline) and Peter (Robin). Grandfather to Michael, Allison (Mark), Brett (Lisa), Jamie (Melanie), Heather (Terry) Christina, Kevin and Teneil; great-grandfather to Jennifer, Aidan Thomas, Jordan, Marissa, Kayla, Jarred.
Memorial service and mass to be held at Immaculate Conception Roman Catholic Church, Barra Head, Tuesday, March 9, at 11:30 a.m., with Fr. Mariadoss Lourdusamy officiating. Private interment of cremated remains to be held at a later date.
Donations may be made in Joe’s memory to a charity of one’s choice.
