Isnor, Ray Vern - 83, of Greenwich, Kings County, passed away Wednesday, March 3, 2010 in the Valley Regional Hospital, Kentville. Born in Windsor, on March 17, 1926, he was a son of the late Emmett and Olive (Butcher) Isnor. He attended Gaspereau Elementary School and was a graduate of Wolfville High School, where he enjoyed hockey and the Cadet Band Corps. He had been employed as a driver for Wolfville Holland Bakery and as a carpenter for Mack Wallace Construction. He was a veteran of the Second World War, serving with the R.C.A. Infantry from 1944-46. He was later employed as an operator with Nova Scotia Light and Power and was the president of the I.B.E.W. Winding motors at home inspired his career and he became founder, president and C.E.O. of Industrial Electrics Limited, Greenwich, successfully operating family and employees while serving businesses, farmers and Michelin Tire for 47 years. He was a volunteer with the New Minas Lions Club for 17 years, active with various projects, including playing Santa at the mall, Lockhart Ryan ball diamond, raising funds for the Valley Regional Hospital and those that are less fortunate. He is survived by his wife of 63 years, the former Kathleen “Kay” Pineo; three daughters, Cathy Isnor, Greenwich; Pamela (Philip) Atwell, Highbury; Tina (John) Smith, Bedford; three sons, Daryl Isnor (Peggy Davidson), Newtonville; Timothy (Heather) Isnor, Kentville; Wayne (Linda) Isnor, New Minas; 16 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a daughter, Sheryl Schofield; a sister, Edith Brown; a brother, Charles. Visitation was held from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Saturday, March 6, 2010 in the White Family Funeral Home, Kentville, where the funeral service, followed by a reception, was held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, March 7, 2010, Reverend Scott Prime and Reverend Sandra Fyfe officiating. Burial took place in the Gaspereau Cemetery, Kings County.
