HOLMES, Donald “Big Don”, 74, Dartmouth, passed away Sunday, February 28, 2010 at the Dartmouth General Hospital. Born in Shelburne, he was a son of the late Sherlock and Pauline Holmes. Don served for 24 years with Royal Canadian Navy. His passion was fishing on the Fiddlers Green IV. Don was a loving husband, father, grandfather and Grampie to many foster children since 1966. He is survived by his large extended family and friends. Funeral service was held on Wednesday, March 3 at St. Thomas More Catholic Church, Father Ron Cairns officiating.
