The death occurred peacefully and surrounded by his loving family at the Prince County Hospital, Summerside, on Wednesday, March 10, 2010, of Robert Joseph Gallant of Summerside, aged 82 years. Veteran of the Second World War. Robert was born in Mont Carmel, P.E.I., on June 12, 1927, to his late parents Wilfred and Eva (nee Bernard) Gallant. Beloved husband of Bernice (nee Pelow) Gallant and loving father of Carol Gallant of Summerside and Terry of Vancouver, B.C. Also lovingly remembered by his grandsons Brian (Tasha) Tod presently serving in Afghanistan and Christopher Tod of Summerside and his great-grandchildren Allison, Michael, Grace and Kayla Tod. Survived by the following brothers and sisters Rita Clow of Summerside, Irene Blakeney of Moncton, N.B., Ethelene (Ed) Wyatt of London, Ont., Lorraine Goodheart of Edmonton, Alta., Wilfred of Ottawa, Ont., Shirley (Fred) Arsenault of Summerside and Norman (Fran) of Summersie. Besides his parents, Robert was predeceased by his son Bobby, his brother Johnny (Annie) and his sister Doris (Tony) Arsenault. Resting at the East Prince Funeral Home, 245 Pope Rd., Summerside, until Monday then to St. Paul\'s Church, Summerside, for funeral mass at 10:30 a.m. Interment to take place at a later date in the church cemetery. Memorial donations in Robert\'s memory to the P.E.I. Lung Association or the Kidney Foundation of Canada would be greatly appreciated. Visiting hours on Sunday, 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Comrades of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch No. 5 George R.
