FARRIS, KAREN MARIE (KEMP) - Karen departed from this earthly life and met her Savior face to face on Friday, March 12th, 2010. Karen was born in Natick, Massachusetts on March 17th, 1961 and is the daughter of David and Barbara Kemp. Karen is survived by her husband, Gilbert Farris of 29 years, and their treasured sons, Scott and Daniel; her parents, David and Barbara Kemp; brother, Edward, and sister, Rhonda. Also survived by brothers-in-law and their partners, as well as several nieces and nephews, a great niece, great nephews and a great aunt. Karen graduated from Atlantic Baptist College and worked in office administration. She served as part of the music ministry of the Jemseg Baptist Church for many years. Karen returned to school in 2001 and obtained her Bachelor of Social Work Degree in 2005 after which she was hired as a social worker at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital where daily she felt honored and privileged to be invited to work with patients and family members. This was always a humbling experience for her and one she highly valued and was richly blessed by.
Visitation will be held at the Oromocto Funeral Home, 108 Winnebago Street, Oromocto on Sunday, March 14th, 2010 from 2:30 - 8:30 PM. The funeral service will be held at Jemseg Baptist Church on Monday, March 15th, 2010 at 2:00 pm with Rev. Dan Walton officiating assisted by Pastor Reg Ward. Pallbearers will be Ken and Susan Cromwell, John and Laureen Gunter and Dave and Diane Standen. Interment will take place in the Jemseg Cemetery immediately following the service. A reception will take place at the Jemseg Lion\'s Hall following the service. No flowers by request, memorial donations made to a Piano Fund for the Jemseg Baptist Church or to the Jemseg Cemetery Fund would be appreciated. www.oromoctofh.com
