FORBES, Ernest Lester "Ernie" – 86, Truro, passed away peacefully, Saturday evening, March 13, 2010, in Colchester Regional Hospital, Truro. Born October 4, 1923, in Middleton, Colchester County, he was the son of the late John and Bessie (Fraser) Forbes. Ernest was employed with the Town of Truro for 18 years with the Public Works and Water Department Office until his retirement in 1988. Ernest is survived by his son, Wayne (Claire) Forbes, Truro Heights; step-son, Clyde MacKenzie (Lorraine Tattrie), West Branch; grandchildren, Kari (Rod), Christopher, Wendy; step grandchildren, Randy (Corlea), Robbie (Susanne). Along with his parents, he was predeceased by his wife, Eleanor Margaret (MacKenzie); sister, Laura May Murphy. Arrangements have been entrusted to Mattatall ~ Varner Funeral Home, 55 Young Street, Truro, where the funeral service will be held 3 p.m., today, March 15, 2010, Dr. Brian Ross officiating.
