1964-2010 - Amherst, N.S. - Constance Ann (Speight), 45, of Amherst, N.S. (formerly of Chatham N.B.), passed March 11th, 2010, following a period of illness. Left to mourn are her dear children, Mitchell and Haley Speight; partner Brian Martin (all of Amherst), parents, Tom and Judy Scott (Loggieville, N.B.), sisters Cara Scott (Miramichi, N.B., Andrea (Roger) Girouard (Dartmouth, N.S.), brother Tony (Roxanne) Scott, (Pembrook, Ont.) and much loved nephews Alex Girouard and Gregor Wilson. Connie will long be remembered for her sense of humour and ability to lighten any situation with laughter. She was a graduate of James M. Hill High School, Chatham, N.B. (1982), Atlantic Business College, Fredericton (1985), N.B.C.C., Moncton, N.B. (2008) and was employed for many years in municipal government, and also worked numerous elections for all levels of government. She enjoyed a ten year career as a DJ in her teens and twenties, loved all kinds of music, and shared celebrations with many groups and families. Connie was known and respected by a great number of her past co-workers and fellow students. She considered herself privileged to have finally found her \"dream job\" and enjoyed helping others learn about themselves so they could do the same. Her favorite days were spent at the beach, with her children.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Adams Funeral Home Ltd., 140 King St., Miramichi. Cremation has taken place. Visitation will be at Adams Funeral Home Ltd., 140 King St., on Monday only, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated from St. Michaels Basilica, on Tuesday, March 16, 2010, at 11 am, conducted by Father John Fraser. Interment will be in St. Michaels Cemetery, Miramichi, later in the spring.
A memorial service will be held from Campbell\'s Funeral Home, 98 Church Street, Amherst, N.S., on Friday, March 19, 2010, at 11 am, conducted by Rev. Charlotte Ross. Family flowers only, but as expressions of sympathy, donations to the Autumn House, in Amherst, or a mental health support group in your local community, would be appreciated by the family.
