We regretfully announce the passing of A. Helen (Green) Smith on Saturday, March 13, 2010 at the young age of 91.
Helen will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by her two daughters, Marion Solowan and Ethel (Dick) Bielert; one sister Jo (Pat) Wilmot. Grandsons Glen (Heather) Solowan, Jim Johnson, Leonard Johnson. Granddaughters Debbie Solowan, Brenda (Van) Zwicker and Deanna (Rick) Euper, nine great grandchildren and three great great grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Helen was predeceased by her first husband Wilson Green and second husband Lewis Smith; parents George and Ethel Taylor, sister Marjorie (Howard) Fennell, brother Alvin (Joyce) Taylor. Son-in-law James Solowan.
Helen was born June 29, 1918 in Armstrong, BC, moved at a young age to Salmon Arm where she grew up. She met and married Wilson Green at a young age and they raised their two daughters and homesteaded in the Salmon Arm area. After Wilson passed away she met and married Lewis Smith. She continued to live there until she moved to Vernon in 1998. Mom continued to live in Vernon until she moved to Kamloops to be closer to her family in 2008.
Helen enjoyed gardening and bingo and especially enjoyed time spent with family. One of Helen's joys was receiving pictures from the family. She was always proud to share her family photos with everyone.
The family wishes to acknowledge and thank her two caregivers, Teresa and Elda. Their presence always put a smile on her face. Also a special thank you to her doctor, Tom Eccelston.
Mom will live on forever in our hearts and will be fondly remembered by all who loved her.

A Memorial Service will be held at the Kamloops Funeral Home, 285 Fortune Drive, Kamloops, BC, on Friday, March 19, 2010 at 2:30 P.M.
