NEW GLASGOW/FRASER’S MOUNTAIN – Pellerine, M. Helen (Fraser), 93, of High Crest Place, New Glasgow, formerly of Fraser’s Mountain, passed away March 20, 2010, in the Palliative Care Unit of the Aberdeen Hospital, New Glasgow.
Born in Glace Bay, she was a daughter of the late John and Elizabeth (Kennedy) Fraser.
Helen was a life long member of the C.W.L. and recently received her 65-year membership pin. Helen was devoutly religious and was happiest surrounded by family and friends. Helen’s day always started with the televised daily mass. Helen was an avid card player and loved to attend the Elk’s card parties until her health no longer permitted. She is best remembered for all her kind deeds.
Helen is survived by her daughters, Margaret Elizabeth (Gordon) Stewart, North Carolina; Carmel (Lou) Bradley, P.E.I.; sons, Malcolm (Shirley-deceased), Priestville; Gerard (Lee), New Glasgow; Jerome (Joan), New Glasgow, 11 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild, many nieces and nephews and a special niece Anna Pellerine.
Besides her parents she was predeceased by her husband, Paul; a son, John Bernard “Jackie” Pellerine (Linda of Stellarton); loving aunt, Mary Chisholm and sisters, Mildred Cox and Catherine Keough.
Cremation to take place.
The family will receive visitors from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday in the H.W. Angus Funeral Home, New Glasgow.
A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be held 2 p.m. Wednesday from St. John the Baptist Roman Catholic Church, New Glasgow, with Father Gary MacPherson officiating. Burial of ashes will take place in Holy Cross Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Helen may be made to a charity of one’s choice.
