Passed peacefully away on March 21, 2010 at the Palliative Care Unit, Western Memorial Hospital in Corner Brook, surrounded by her loving family. She was predeceased by Albert, her beloved husband of 60 years, on May 18, 2009; parents, Stephen and Ellen Casey; brother, William Casey; sisters: Margaret Hunt and Angela Power; brothers-in-law: Patrick Hunt and Stanley Power; sister-in-law, Gertrude Casey. She leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories, six children: Stephen (Rita Barrett), Conche; Donald (Joan), Corner Brook; Maurice (Alice), King’s Cove, NL; Nellie (Colin Wall), Grand Falls-Windsor; Barry (Maxine), Corner Brook and Bridget (Dennis Porter), Corner Brook; 11 precious grandchildren: Renee Lewis, Jonathan, Jeffrey and Jason Lewis, Mark, Miriam and Clare Lewis, Aimee and Alicia Wall, Courtney Lewis, Victor Barrett; brothers: Lawrence (Mary), Conche and George (Ann), St. John’s; brother-in-law, Harry Lewis, Englee; sister-in-law, Madeline Foley, St. John’s; as well as a large circle of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Visitation at Fillatre’s Funeral Home, 4 St. Mark’s Avenue, on Monday, March 22nd from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. and at Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Church, Conche, on Tuesday from 7-9 p.m. and Wednesday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Thursday, March 25th at 11:00 a.m. from Sacred Heart Church, Conche, with Father Devas officiating. Interment to follow at Sacred Heart Cemetery, Conche. As expressions of sympathy, flowers graciously accepted or donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or to the charity of one’s choice.
