The death of Bettina L. Melanson occurred at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital on Tuesday, March 23, 2010. Born in Woodstock, NB on January 16, 1927, she was the daughter of the late Wemyss Powell and Mary Edna (McClary) Grant. Bettina is survived by her husband, Joseph Bernard Melanson; daughters, Dr. Dara Lee Melanson and Terri Lynn Melanson; sons, Paul Arthur Melanson and Mark Allen Melanson (Lorraine); grandchildren, Nicole Abbott, Jonathan Green, Jeffery Parson and Joshua and Jordan Melanson as well as her sister, Mary Edna Lord “Peggy” (Robert) Predeceased by her parents; daughter, Kim Marie Wood; sister, Mary Irene Nish \"Nonie\" and brother, Robert.
There will be no visitation by family request. A memorial service will be held on Friday, March 26, 2010 at 2:00 pm in the J. A. McAdam Memorial Chapel. Rev. Doug Hapeman officiating. Interment will take place at a later date in Moores Mills, NB. Memorial tributes in Bettina’s name may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
