Lorraine Edith MacKenzie
ALMA – Lorraine Edith MacKenzie, age 66, of Alma, passed away on Monday, March 22, 2010, in the Aberdeen Hospital with her family at her side.
Born in Port Hawkesbury, she was a daughter of the late Aubrey Manuel and Edith (Myers) MacLellan.
Lorraine was instrumental in establishing the MacKenzie businesses and was vital in the growth of the family businesses across the Maritimes. She enjoyed oil painting, sewing and quilting. Her children and grandchildren were very special to her.
She will be sadly missed by her husband, Robert; a daughter, Kim Deagle (Mike), Hammonds Plains; sons, Darrell (Nancy), Westville, and Shawn (Valerie), Central West River; grandchildren, Katelyn, Josh, and Sarah Deagle; Travis, Krista, and James MacKenzie; Samantha, Lindsay, Jeannie, Taylor, and Dalton MacKenzie; great-granddaughter, Olivia MacKenzie; sisters: Helen Peverly, Loch Katrine; Doris MacKenzie, Central West River; Betty Rundle, Westville; a brother, Barry MacLellan, New Minas.
She was predeceased by her stepfather, Arthur MacLellan; a brother, Clarence Manuel, and an infant sister, Bonnie.
Visitations will be held on Wednesday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Thursday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. at Eagles Funeral Home, Westville. Her funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday from St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church, Westville, with Rev. Norman Marple officiating, assisted by Rev. Dr. Glen Matheson. Burial will be in Alma Cemetery.
