Elizabeth Ann 'Beth' MacDonald

Sydney Mines It is with deep regret that we announce the sudden passing of Beth MacDonald, 49, at home on Tuesday, Jan. 20, 2009. Born in Sydney Mines on April 4, 1959, she was the only child of Earl and Ruth (Garnier) MacDonald. She was an adherent of St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church, Sydney Mines. Beth was educated in the public school system in Sydney Mines, graduating from Memorial High School in 1977. From there she attended Dalhousie University for two years, followed by attendance at UCCB, where she earned a diploma in chemical technology. She was an avid reader and a diligent gardener. She spent many hours tending her gardens and taking care of the many birds that lived there. At her request, there will be no visitation or funeral service. Cremation has taken place under the care and direction of J. M. Jobes Funeral Home, Sydney Mines. The burial will be held at a later date.
