RIVERTON – Hugh Sutherland Whidden, 83 of the Valley View Villa, Riverton, formerly of Little Harbour, Pictou County, died March 23, 2010 in the Villa.
Born in Glenelg, NS, he was a son of the late Aldon and Margaret (Sutherland) Whidden.
He was a resident of the Valley View Villa for the past five months having previously resided in Little Harbour.
He owned and operated A.C. Burner Service up until his retirement.
He is survived by sons, Colin, Toronto; Allen, Little Harbour; brothers: Kenneth (Barbara), Cleveland, Ohio; Homer, Calgary; and Harold (Wanda), Fraser’s Mountain; a sister, Mary Bowes, Dartmouth; several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his first wife, Jean MacFarlane; second wife, Shirley Mulberry; sisters, Barbara and Ann in infancy.
Cremation to take place. The family will receive visitors from 12 p.m. until the time of service at 2 p.m. Saturday in the H.W. Angus Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Joanne Vines officiating. Burial of ashes will take place in the Church Brook Cemetery, Little Harbour.
Donations in memory of Hugh may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.
