NEW GLASGOW – Alexander Steven “Sandy” Campbell, age 62, of East River Manor, New Glasgow, formerly of Shelburne St., New Glasgow, passed away March 25, 2010 in the QEII Health Sciences Centre, Halifax.
Born in New Glasgow, he was a son of the late Alan and Lena (Lent) Campbell.
Sandy was a resident of New Glasgow all of his life. He was a graduate of New Glasgow High School and went on to St. Francis Xavier University where he graduated with a Bachelor of Commerce. He was employed with Revenue Canada Taxation before retiring due to ill health.
He is survived by his wife, the former Carol Russell, New Glasgow; loving father to daughter, Cathy Campbell (Rick McArthur), New Glasgow; brother, Allan, Halifax; sister, Jane Campbell, Calgary; sister-in-law, Clarice Campbell, New Glasgow; several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
He was predeceased by a brother, William “Bill”; and infant brother, George.
Cremation has taken place. A memorial mass will be held at 11 a.m. Monday in the Church of the Holy Name, Westville, with Father Evo DiPierro officiating. Burial will be in the Holy Name Cemetery, Westville. A reception will follow in the church hall.
