Passed peacefully away in the presence of his loving family at the Harbour Lodge Nursing Home, Carbonear on Sunday, March 15, 2009, Stanley V. Thoms of Carbonear, age 86 years. Predeceased by wife: Rita A.; sisters: Dorothy, Mildred and Hilda; brothers: Ambrose, George and Frank. Leaving to mourn, two daughters: Linda Thoms and Judy (Graham) Legge, both of Carbonear; two grandchildren: Justin and Jenesta Legge; two brothers-in-law: John (Annie) Critch and Hedley (Winnie) Critch, both of Cavendish; sister-in-law: Minnie Ann Critch, Cavendish; seven nephews; six nieces, including devoted niece Marina Bradbury, Bay Roberts; also a large number of other relatives and friends. Resting at Noel’s Funeral Home, Water Street, Carbonear after 2 p.m. Monday, March 16. Funeral service to take place on Wednesday, March 18 at 2 p.m. from St. James Anglican Church, Carbonear. Interment in the Interfaith Cemetery, Carbonear.
