Passed away after a brief illness on Saturday, March 14, 2009 at the Moose Jaw Union Hospital. Lena, in her 88th year was predeceased by her beloved husband George (2000). Lena was born to Bill and Anna Filipchuk on September 10, 1921. She grew up on the family farm, and was married to George in Canora, SK on July 22, 1945. The couple moved to Moose Jaw shortly after where they raised their family. She will be missed by her daughter Joyce Hofley (Earl) of Regina, and sons Gerald (Kathleen) of Regina and Les (Bev) of Moose Jaw. She will be lovingly remembered by her 7 grandchildren and her 2 great-grandchildren. She is survived by her sisters Effie and Elsie. Lena is predeceased by her sisters Mary and Eva, and by her brothers Fred and John. Arrangements entrusted to Parkview Funeral Chapel. A private family graveside service will be held at a later date. Memorial donations to the Ina Grafton Gage Home would be appreciated by the family. A special thank-you is extended to Doris and Dorothy and the Ina Grafton Staff for your compassion and support.
