Passed peacefully away on Tuesday, August 26, 2008, James Power, age 72 years. Predeceased by parents Walter and Marie; brother Kenneth; sisters: Bernadette and Cecilia; sister-in-law Bernadine (Austin); brother-in-law Francis Dyer (Anita); sister-in-law Marjorie Manning; brother-in-law Pat Dawe; parents-in-law: Patrick and Nell Dawe. Left to mourn and ever mindful of his courage and strength during the past eight months in St. Clare's Hospital, ICU, his loving wife Catherine; daughter Bonnie (Brian) Waterman; sons: Stephen, Damian and Justin (Sue); sisters: Nell Roberts, Madonna (George) Wilkinson, Bernice (Jim) Boland and Anita Dyer; brothers: John (Madeline) Power and Austin Power; brother-in-law Kevin Houlihan and Aunt Margaret Maynard. Also Catherine's family, Betty (Ray) Evans, Loretta (Paddy) Hawco, Judy (Pat) Dawe, Richard (Marjorie) Manning and many loving nieces, nephews and cousins. Special friend Jim Ring and the staff at St. Clare's ICU who were part of his family for the past eight months. The Old Flatrock Hill's were always close to Jim's heart and per his wishes he will rest at Caul's Funeral Home, Torbay on Thursday from 4 p.m. - 9 p.m. and Friday from 10 a.m. - 9 p.m. Funeral Mass on Saturday, August 30 at 10:30 a.m. from St. Michael's Church, Flatrock. Burial to follow at St. Michael's Cemetery, Flatrock. In his memory, donations may be made to the Basilica Foundation, Our Lady of Lourdes Grotto or the ALS Society.
