It is with heavy hearts that we, the family announce the passing of Bill Morrison on Sunday, March 15, 2009, at the Harbourstone Enhanced Care Facility.
Born in Point Clear, Boularderie, he was the son of the late John Morrison and Mary Belle MacMillan.
In earlier years, he was employed with Cape Breton Dairyman and later became a member of the Labourers International Union Local No. 1115 as a truck driver and labourer and was employed with Miller and Hughes Ltd., Sydney, until his retirement. He enjoyed the outdoors, going fishing and spending time in Gabarus with his good friends Billy and Joan Mills.
Bill is survived by his four children, Donna Murphy (Bill), Sydney, Cathy Morrison, Calgary, Carol (Jerry) MacNeil, Sydney, Doug Morrison, Sydney; sister, Kay MacLean, Boularderie; brother, Donald Morrison, Sydney. He is also survived by his 10 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and his dear and best friend, Billy Mills.
Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his daughters, Debbie and Patricia, grandson, Kenny, sisters, Mallie Taylor-MacDonald, Peggy Morrison and Florence MacQueen, brothers, Christopher and Monty Morrison.
Visitation will take place Tuesday, March 17 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the S.W. Chant & Son Funeral Home, 564 Alexandra St., Sydney. Funeral service will be held 11 a.m., Wednesday, March 18 at the funeral home chapel with Pastor Sheldon Chant officiating. Interment to take place at a later date.
