Victoria Jessie St. John, 63 of Sydney, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, March 17, 2009, surrounded by family and friends, after a courageous battle with cancer.
Born in Sydney, she was the daughter of the late Merle and Emmeline (MacPhee) Lewis.
She was a member of Holy Redeemer parish, Sydney and also an active member of the CCB and the CNIB. Vicky had a heart of gold and touched the hearts and lives of everyone she encountered. She always had a smile and was quick with a joke to keep everyone laughing. She was strong right up until the end and never let her battles get her down.
She will be forever missed by her loving husband and soulmate, Alex; her three daughters, Judy (Ron) Arsenault; Patricia (Kent) Pero; Stacey St. John (Danny); her grandchildren, Alisha, Adam Aaron, Mary Emma, Kayla, Hannah and her little nurse, ‘Lexi Pie’. She is also survived by two sisters, Theresa (Carl) Powell, Deanna (Dan) Martell and three brothers, Roy (Carol), Russell (Eita) and Ernest (Raylene).
She was predeceased by brothers Nicholas, Stanley, Ronald ‘Ronnie’ and Francis ‘Lucky’.
Visitation for Victoria St. John will take place at T.W. Curry Parkview Chapel on Friday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral mass will be celebrated on Saturday at 11 a.m. at Holy Redeemer Church with Rev. Errol MacDonald officiating. Interment in Resurrection Cemetery, Sydney Forks.
In her memory, donations may be made to the An Cala Palliative Care or the Holy Redeemer Building Fund.
