Predeceased by his parents, Emil and Sophie Went, his wife Eileen, sons, John and Jamie (nice day), sisters, Lydia, Olga, Alwina, and brothers, Rin and Albert.
He is survived by his brother Adolph (Audrey).
He made his home in Scotchtown, where he raised his children and volunteered at the local fire department for 60 years. Our dad was well respected while working in the coal mining industry for 45 years. He was admired within the community for his caring, hardworking, and thoughtful ways.
He is survived by his children, Greg (Brenda), Linda (Richard), Michael, Anne Marie (Gerald), Marion (Paul), Virginia (Doug), Angela; his grandchildren, Christine, Mike, Jeff, Jody, Kimberly, Ken, Shannyn, Jennifer, David, Chris, Crystal, Courtney, Nicole, Samantha, Robyn, Alicia, Chantelle, Johnathon, and his numerous great-grandchildren.
All of us would like to offer this tribute to our father, grandfather, and great-grandfather.
Thanks dad for instilling in us the qualities that have made us all who we are today. We will try our best to honour and cherish the values that you taught us. We are very proud to call you our father. Rest in peace dad.
