Passed peacefully away at the Agnes Pratt Nursing Home on March 16, 2009, Pearl Fleming, age 88 years. Predeceased by husband George of Thomas, son Edmund, daughters: Christine Butt and Mary. Leaving to mourn Shirley Hicks (Cyril) of Grand Falls, Dorothy Martin (Frank) of Prince Edward Island, Rose Genge of Mt. Pearl; son David (Lorie) of St. Catherine’s, Ontario, Gerald (Michelle) of Bonavista; sisters: Rita Gillingham (Joseph) of Seal Cove, Ruby Bishop of Grand Falls; sixteen grandchildren and fifteen great-grandchildren; a large number of nieces, nephews, friends and relatives. Resting at Strathie’s Funeral Home, Bonavista on Wednesday, March 18, 2009 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral service to take place from St. Joseph’s Roman Catholic Church, Bonavista on Thursday, March 19, 2009 at 2 p.m. Interment to follow at St. Joseph’s Roman Catholic Cemetery.
