Marsh, Marjorie Joyce - 88, Masstown, passed away March 18, 2009 in Colchester Regional Hospital, Truro. Born in Bear River, N.S. on June 8, 1920, she was a daughter of the late Dr. William Morse and Maude Alice Parker. Marjorie grew up in Boston, Mass. And spent her summers in Bear River where she met her future husband, Harry Garfield Marsh. Marjorie has been affiliated throughout her life with various organizations including the Scotia Chapter of the I.O.D.E, the Third Place Transition House, Masstown United Church UCW and the Brunswick Street United Church UCW. She was a tireless worker for the local food banks and abused womens organizations. Marjorie was the last surviving member of her immediate family. Marjorie is survived by sons, David (Margo), Hilden, Greg (Krista) Masstown; daughter, Penny (Bryce) Duggan, Barrington; grandchildren, Claude, Denise, Greg, Ryan; eight great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband, Harry; sisters, Ruth, Kaye; brother, Willard. Cremation has taken place. No visitation by request. A memorial service will be held on Sunday, March 22nd at 2:00 pm in Masstown United Church with Rev. Donald MacQueen officiating. Spring interment in Masstown Cemetery. No flowers by request.
