Timmons, Gladys “Ellaâ€- 85, Debert, passed away March 16, 2009 at home. Born in Debert, she was a daughter of the late Lester and Letitia (Barley) Totten. She was employed with Zellers Ltd. for several years and was also a volunteer for the Y.M.C.A. Ella lived at Sutherland’s Lake for several years and was a kind hearted person who loved to help others. She is survived by step-daughters, Joan (Fred) Honyust, Carolyn Timmons, both of London, Ont.; grandchildren, Joseph and Shawn Timmons; step-grandchildren, Johnny, Sherri Honyust, Donnie, David and Ricky Timmons, sisters, Grace Murphy, Debert, Joyce Demers, Truro; brothers, Ronald (Linda), Brantford, Ont., Lionel (Marie), Royce (Donna), Ted (Ruth), all of Debert, Lee, Bass River, Bernie (Judy), Masstown; brother-in-law, Willie Timmons, Cape Breton; sisters-in-law, Evelyn Johnstone, Sydney, Margaret Timmons, Truro; numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Howard Timmons; daughter, Shirley Anne Timmons; sister, Leta; brothers, Reginald, Erwin, Stanley and a brother in infancy. No visitation by request. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, March 21st at 3:00 pm in Colchester Community Funeral Home, 512 Willow Street, Truro with Rev. Donald MacQueen officiating. Spring interment in Middle Road Cemetery, Debert. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Nova Scotia or the Canadian Cancer Society.
