We regret to announce the passing of a very well known, lifelong Sydney resident, on March 17, 2009, at Harbourstone Enhanced Care Facility, in her 99th year.
Mary L. Egan, affectionately known as ‘Mimi’, was the younger daughter of the late Dr. and Mrs. W.J. Egan.
Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her brother, Redmond; her sister, Charlotte Curtis and brother-in-law, Bill Curtis.
She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.
She is survived by several nieces, nephews, grand-nieces and grand-nephews, whom she dearly loved and cherished.
A graduate of Mount Saint Vincent College, Halifax, Mary was employed with the Pathology Department of the Sydney City Hospital, until her retirement.
In keeping with her wishes, cremation has taken place, under the direction the dignified and dedicated staff of Sydney Memorial Chapel. There will be a private family memorial mass and interment in the family plot at Holy Cross Cemetery, at a later date.
