Passed peacefully away at the Hoyles Escasoni Complex on Saturday, March 14, 2009 in her 76th year. Predeceased by her husband after 52 years of marriage: William (March 2008). Leaving to mourn are daughter: Joy Barrett (Angus Pardy) of Cartwright, Labrador; step-sons: Robert Hollett (Cathy) of St. John's, David Hollett (Effie) of Goose Bay, Labrador; step-daughter: Harlean Gudgeon of North Carolina; eighteen grandchildren; fifteen great-grandchildren; sisters: Marion Mullett, Joan Barber (Roy); brothers: Irvine (Sheila), Roderick (Martha) and Clifford (Judy Holloway); life-long friend: Betty Wiseman as well as many other nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Rested at Barrett's Funeral Home, 328 Hamilton Avenue on Sunday, Mar. 15th from 10 a.m. to 12 noon, 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral service took place from Barrett's Chapel on Monday, March 16, 2009 at 11 a.m. Interment followed at Mount Pleasant Cemetery, Field of Honor.
