Lyle Douglas Hayter, 39, Earltown, passed away March 19, 2009 at home.
Born in Halifax, he was a son of the late Charles and Lillian (MacKenzie) Hayter.
Lyle worked for Natural Resources in McLellan's Brook, New Glasgow on the fire tower. He enjoyed reading, cars and the outdoors.
He is survived by sisters Darlene (Dean) Colpitts, North River; Charlene Hayter, Halifax; Henrietta (Gordon) Gericke, Alberta; brother Clinton (Sharon), Truro; nieces Katelyn and Jennifer; nephews Jordon and Tyler.
At Lyle's request there will be no visitation and no public funeral service.
A private family graveside service will be held in the spring in Onslow Island Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to an education fund for his niece Katelyn Colpitts and nephew Tyler Colpitts.
