It is with heavy hearts that we announce the sudden passing of our beloved son, Ivan Frederick Tighe on Thursday, March 19, 2009, in Perth Andover, N.B.
Born in Sydney, Ivan was the son of Catherine Tighe and Joseph Ling, New Victoria, C.B.
Ivan was a member of St. Leonard’s parish, formerly St. Joseph’s, New Victoria. He was a loving son, brother, grandson, nephew and uncle. He was the love of his girlfriend, ‘Nicole’s’ life. Ivan loved spending time and hanging out with family and friends. He was a member of Local 682 Plumbers & Pipe Fitters and mostly worked in Port Hawkesbury. Ivan loved life and lived it to the fullest.
He will always be remembered for his cheerful smile and eagerness to lend a helping hand. Ivan has left many unforgettable memories in all our hearts and he will be greatly missed.
Besides his parents, Ivan is survived by his girlfriend, Nicole Mackay, New Waterford; sisters, Bernice, New Victoria, Tammy (Danny) Hirchi, Pert Andover, N.B.; brothers, Paul (Helen) Tatlock, Tyler (Missie) Tatlock, both of Perth Andover, N.B.; nieces, Brooklynn and Isabella, New Victoria, Ashley, Missie; and nephews, Chris and Landon, all of Perth Andover, N.B. Also surviving are his maternal grandfather, Wallace Tighe, New Victoria, paternal grandmother, Bernice Tatlock, Perth Andover, N.B. and many loving aunts and uncles.
Ivan was predeceased by his sister, Joy Tighe and maternal grandmother, Joyce Tighe and paternal grandfather, Arnold Tatlock.
Visitation for Ivan Tighe will be held Monday, March 23, 7-9 p.m. and Tuesday, March 24, 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at V.J. McGillivray Funeral Home, 380 Smith St., New Waterford. A celebration of Ivan’s life will be held 10 a.m. Wednesday, March 25 at St. Michael’s, Parish of St. Leonard with Fr. Doug MacDonald officiating. A reception will follow in St. Agnes Hall. Interment will be in St. Joseph’s Cemetery, New Victoria at a later date.
Donations in Ivan’s memory may be made to a charity of choice.
