With deepest sadness we announce the passing of Marina Louise Hunter.
She passed away very peacefully at home with her loving family by her side on March 21st at the age of 57, after a 20-month courageous battle with melanoma cancer.
Born in Toronto, Ontario, she was the daughter of Mary (Stewart) Waite and the late Wilfred Waite.
Marina will be forever missed by her loving husband and soulmate of 32 years Dale Hunter, her daughter, Jennifer Hunter of Toronto, Ontario and her son, Christopher Hunter of Toronto, Ontario, as well as her two shelties (\"her girls\"), Kaley and Kelsey.
Marina is survived by her mother, Mary Waite and her three brothers, Walter (Kathleen) Waite, Wilfred (Nancy) Waite, John (Anne) Waite all of Fredericton, New Brunswick; her father-in-law, Harold Hunter, of New Glasgow, Nova Scotia, and her brother-in-law, Dana (Patty) Hunter of Truro, Nova Scotia, as well as all her many cherished friends.
She will also be sadly missed by her nieces, Marianne Waite, Jessica Waite and Melissa Waite, all of Fredericton, N.B., Anna Marie Waite of Toronto, Ont., and her nephew, Robert (Anna) Waite of Toronto, Ont., as well as her aunt, Liz (William) Calhoun, of Toronto Ont and her uncle, William (Lester) Stewart of Saint John\'s, Nfld.
Marina is predeceased by her father, Wilfred Waite, uncles, Percy and Ralph Waite and mother-in-law, Joan Hunter.
Marina was a graduate of New Glasgow High School and attended Teacher\'s College in Truro, N.S.
After several years of teaching in both Truro and New Glasgow, she entered the family business, The Fredericton Inn, as Human Resource Manager and remained at that position until her death.
Marina was always a very strong, courageous, loving and positive person.
She devoted her entire life to her family. She was extremely proud of her family and was happiest when everyone was together. Marina was a role model to her daughter and son teaching them many values and lessons about life.
She was a beautiful woman both inside and out, always thinking of others before herself.
Her courage and strength were never more evident then during her 20-month journey in her fight with melanoma, never giving up and always keeping her faith, even at the lowest periods, all the while maintaining her concern for others around her.
The family would like to extend their deepest gratitude to Dr. Louise Ruest, the Extra-Mural Nurses and the Nursing Staff at the DECH, you are all truly angels on this earth.
Visitation will be held at McAdams Funeral Home 160 York Street on Tuesday, March 24, 2009, from 7 to 9 p.m.
Funeral service will be held at the Wilmot United Church on Wednesday, March 25, 2009, at 2 p.m., with Rev. Chris Levan presiding.
Donations may be made to the Melanoma Foundation of Canada, Hospice Fredericton or the Foundation of the donor’s choice.
You were always our angel on earth, now forever God\'s angel in Heaven.
You will live on in our hearts forever, until we meet again in Heaven.
