Perry, Theresa Anita Perry, 81 of Woodside, Dartmouth, N.S., passed away from congestive heart failure at Northwood Center on March 20, 2009 after a long battle with pneumonia complications. Theresa, daughter of Leona and Peter Powers was born in Portland, Maine on October 13, 1927 and moved to Summerside, P.E.I. in her mid-teens. She was one of 6 children. She married Henry Joseph Perry of Summerside and they lived happily ever after for 58 years until Henry passed away in 2007. They were still very much in love until the very end. Theresa was such a pretty mother with a wonderful smile that would brighten anyone’s day. Even at 81 her smile and big smiling eyes were a constant joy to her family. She had a wonderful sense of humour and laughed heartily at all the wonderful stories Henry told – even though she had heard them a million times. Theresa is survived by loving daughters, Pat Killeen, Paulette Braman, Margaret (Peggy) Naugle and by her special son, Paul Perry. She is also survived by loving grandchildren, Lisa Mazzucco, Darcy Killeen, Michael Braman, Michelle Braman, Jamie Perry and Michael Perry; by great-grandchildren: Sascha Mazzucco, Joseph and Jessica Perry and by her brother, the youngest of her family Alfred (Joe) Powers. Theresa was predeceased by her sister and best friend, Peggy Arsenault and by three of her brothers: Albert, Tony and Armand Powers. She will be sadly missed by her life-long friend and sister-in-law, Emmy Powers; by sons-in-laws, John Braman and Bo Naugle; and by close nieces and nephews, Jimmy, Sandra, Patrice, Armand and Peter of P.E.I. The family will receive visitors on Monday, March 23 from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. at A. L. Mattatalls Funeral Home on Portland St., Dartmouth. A Funeral Mass will take place at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, March 25 at St. Paul’s Church in Summerside, P.E.I. Father Albin Arsenault officiating. Interment will take place at St. Paul’s Cemetery in Summerside, P.E.I. when it re-opens in May. In lieu of flowers donations to the Heart Foundation or to the Alzheimers Association would be much appreciated.
