JONES, Cecilia “Cecile” (nee Kraft)

Cecile Jones of Calgary passed away peacefully at the Brentwood Care Centre on Saturday, March 21, 2009, at the age of 94 years. Born in Glenbain, SK, on October 7, 1914, Cecile was the matriarch of the family, and her words of wisdom, joy, humour and love were the glue that held everyone together. She will be missed by all who knew her, and the memories of her love and devotion to family will be an example for her family forever. Cecile is survived by her daughters: Lorraine (Dan) Wall and Gwen (Lanny Irwin) Curkan-Irwin; grandchildren: Warren (Cheryl Stock) Wall, Darren (Caron) Wall, Daryl (Colette) Curkan and Chad (Catherine) Curkan; step-grandchildren Lanny and Chase Irwin; as well as great-grandchildren: Devon, Megan, Colton and Jordan Wall; Celine, Cale, Sophie and Cyle Curkan. She was predeceased by her husband of sixty years David Jones; great-grandson Caiden Curkan; and all her eleven siblings. Thanks to all the staff at the Brentwood Care Centre for their care and support of mother. Private funeral services will be held at Heritage Funeral Home, 1708 – 16th Avenue N.W. Calgary, T2M 0L7.
