NERADA - Mr. Frank Nerada aged 96 years of Climax, SK, died on Saturday, March 21, 200,9 at the Shaunavon Hospital and Care Centre in Shaunavon, SK. He was born on November 24, 1912, at Plum Coulee, MB. Frank came to the Climax area with his parents as a young child in October 1915. He received his education at Plateau and Stone Schools. He married Miranda Carlson in Shaunavon at the First Baptist Church on June 1, 1939. Frank had started farming with his father and continued farming in the Climax area all his life. Over the years he worked on threshing crews in the Eckville, AB, area, and custom hauled coal and grain for area farmers. Frank served in the Army Reserve with the Light Horse Brigade. He hunted and trapped in his younger years. He and Miranda enjoyed square dancing. Frank was an avid curler and enjoyed gardening. Frank really loved to work. He liked to tinker and always needed something to do. He mowed his own lawn and shoveled his own walks right up until last year. Frank became a resident of Shaunavon Hospital and Care Centre in January 2009. He was predeceased by his wife Miranda on September 6, 2008; his parents Frank and Mary Nerada; his sister Elma Nerada; five brothers-in-law, Ferdinand in infancy, Lawrence (Myrtle), Fred, Orlando (Rosaline) and Roy (Delores); his grandson Darren at birth; and his sister-in-law Evelyn. Frank is survived by his three children Dianne Nerada (Cliff) of Climax, Dennis (Jan) of Swift Current, Garth (Bev) of Climax; three grandchildren Denise Peters (Ken) of Wymark, Cheryl Raketti (Danny) of Climax, Karl Nerada of Swift Current; six great-grandchildren; one great-great grandson; brothers-in-law Vern Carlson of Toronto and Earl Carlson of Calgary; sisters-in-law Beryl Carlson of Cranbrook, BC, and Agnes Carlson of Kimberley, BC; as well as by numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral Services were held from Climax United Church in Climax on Friday, March 27, 2009, at 2:00 p.m. with Funeral Celebrant Bernadette Schneider officiating. Interment took place at Climax Cemetery at Climax. Binkley’s Funeral Service of Shaunavon (www.Binkleys.com) was in charge of the arrangements. Honorary Pallbearers were all his relatives and friends. Pallbearers were all his great-grandchildren Chris Peters, Kevin Peters, Coty Raketti, Jade Raketti, Kalyn Raketti and Josh Raketti.
