CHOREL - Jacques Chorel, the 11th child in a family of 12 was born on April 23, 1918, to Victoria and Eugene Chorel. He passed away at the Foyer St. Joseph Nursing Home on March 11, 2009. The funeral mass was held at 11:00am, March 14, 2009, from Our Lady of Auvergne Church Ponteix, SK, with Father Raymond Carignan officiating. Music by the Catholic Church Choir. Jacques attended school at the Ponteix Convent and Gouverneur School. He spent most of his life farming in the Gouverneur area with his father and his brother Henri, taking over the family farm when his father moved to “Le Manoir.” In 1980 Jacques sold the farm and retired to the town of Ponteix. Ill health led him to the Foyer St. Joseph where he was a resident for the past five years. He was predeceased by his mother Victoria, his father Eugene and all his siblings.
