Passed peacefully away at the Interfaith Citizen’s Home, Carbonear on Tuesday, March 24, 2009, William G. Penney of Carbonear, age 87 years. Predeceased by wife Zelpha and son Asaph. Leaving to mourn two daughters: Lydia, Alberta and Linda, British Columbia; one son William Jr., Labrador; daughter-in-law Ann Penney, Carbonear; five grandchildren: Valerie Baker (Shane Ronstone), Tina (Randy) Chislett, Sean (Sonya) Penney, William Baker (Linda Davis) and Deanna Baker; five great-grandchildren: Aimee, Spencer, Samantha, Matthew and Isobel; special nephew and niece Carl and Barb Penney, Carbonear; also a large number of other relatives and friends. Resting at Noel’s Funeral Home, Water Street, Carbonear. Funeral service to take place on Friday, March 27 at 2 p.m. from Bethany United Church and Cemetery, Carbonear. In lieu of flowers, as an expression of sympathy, donations in his memory may be made to the Interfaith Citizens Home Palliative Care Unit.
