Passed in: SYDNEY, Nova Scotia, Canada
Passed on: March 24th, 2009
It is with deep regret and profound sadness that we announce the passing of Vivian C. Burke on March 24, 2009, in Sydney, after a lengthy illness.
Born in Sydney, Vivian was the beloved daughter of the late Margaret Alice Elizabeth and Donald Morrison.
For over five decades she practised nursing in Sydney, finally retiring from the Cove Guest Home, although her first love was working in the private sector where her expertise was greatly sought after.
Vivian is survived by her devoted husband of 58 years, Roy F. Burke; two sons, James and Donald and one daughter, Margaret.
In life Vivian was a woman of many interests, she was an experienced outdoorswoman, as well as a prolific artist, with a voracious love of literature. She also possessed a rapier wit and fine intellect.
Above all, Vivian was known for her unmatched beauty throughout her life.
There will be no visitation as cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held at a later date.
Donations may be made in Vivian’s memory to the Open Door Shelter, 32 Margaret St., Sydney, N.S., B1P 2W8.

upon the sweetest flower
