The death occurred peacefully at the Prince County Hospital, Summerside on Wednesday, March 25, 2009, of Edward Louis Poirier of Summerside, aged 89 years. Edward was born on July 15, 1919, in Mont Carmel, P.E.I., to his late parents, Frank and Madeline (nee Arsenault) Poirier. Beloved husband of the late Yvonne (nee Arsenault) Poirier and loving father of Irene Arsenault of Summerside. Also lovingly remembered by his granddaughter, Stacy Arsenault (Jeremy Coughlin), his great-grandchildren, Ciara, Harper and Trace and several nieces and nephews. Besides his wife and his parents, Edward was predeceased by his brothers and sisters. Resting at the East Prince Funeral Home, 245 Pope Rd., Summerside until Saturday, then to St. Paul’s Church, Summerside for funeral mass at 10:30 a.m. Interment to take place in the church cemetery at a later date. Memorial donations in Edward’s memory to St. Paul’s Church Cemetery Fund would be greatly appreciated.
