DOWE, Larry M. – 60, of Ward’s Brook, Cumberland County went to be with his Lord on Tuesday, March 24, 2009 at South Cumberland Community Care Centre, Parrsboro while in the arms of his beloved wife. Born in Advocate Harbour, he was a son of Isaac Dowe, Ward’s Brook and the late Helen (Smith) Dowe. He is survived by his wife, the former Roberta MacKeen; a son, Lloyd (Blair), Bridgewater; grandson, Kaleb; several aunts, uncles and cousins. He was a family man and very special to all his extended family and brothers-in-law. Larry was a retired fisherman and machinist by trade. He was also a talented carpenter. He was an avid hunter. In recent years, he enjoyed getting involved in the production of maple products. Larry was a Christian man and a member of the Port Greville Baptist Church. Visitation 2-4, 7-9 p.m. Thursday at Smith’s Funeral Home, Parrsboro. Funeral service 2 p.m. Friday at the Port Greville Baptist Church, Rev. Donald Hirtle and Rev. Henry Devito officiating.
