Steve passed away peacefully on March 23, 2009 at the Victoria Hospital. He was born on December 31, 1927 in the Strong Pine District. Steve, along with his brother started their farming operation in the Strong Pine District and later the Weirdale District. They continued this partnership for 40 years. He was very mechanically inclined which was an asset around the farm. Steve continued farming up until his passing, but due to failing health had to participate in a lesser role. Steve is survived by his brother Joe (Olga); his nieces and nephews Mike Billay, Zinna Korycki, Iris Billay, Jim (Marilyn) Manley, Lorraine (Deiter) Mitz, Beatrice (Edward) Deneysk, Jim (Wendy) Zaparaniuk, Ed Zaparaniuk (Sandy), Marlene (Wayne) Vancoughnet, John (Mary) Panchuk, Elsie Nakonechny, Marie Tubman, Connie (Andrew) Molnar and John Boyechko, as well as numerous great nieces, nephews and other relatives. He was predeceased by his parents Michael and Anna Boyechko; sisters Mary (Roy) Billay, Pauline (Jim) Manly, Dora (Nick) Zaparaniuk and Nettie (Nick) Panchuk; his nephews Jim Billay, Steve Billay, Pete Korycki, Joe Nakonechny and Ted Tubman and an infant nephew. Funeral Service will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Friday, March 27, 2009 at Grays Funeral Chapel, 575 – 28th Street West, Prince Albert, SK with Father Michael Lomaszkiewicz officiating. Interment will be held at South Hill Cemetery. In lieu of other tributes, memorial donations can be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Saskatchewan, 279 – 3rd Avenue N, Saskatoon, SK S7K 2H8.
