Nona LaVassaur of Washington, IN (Formerly of Brakes Cove, NL), passed peacefully away at her residence on March 23, 2009 at the age of 75 years. Leaving to mourn six sisters: Margaret Lovell of McIvers, Alice (Gerald) Wheeler, Corner Brook, Cathy (Richard) Stumpf, Kitchener, Marjorie Park, Cox's Cove, Anita (Bud) Baldwin, Kitchener and Evelyn (Terry) Wells, Cox's Cove; two brothers: Joey (Loretta) Park and David (Daisy) Park, both of Cox's Cove; caregivers: Dick and Jane LaVassaur, Dianne Shaffer and Linda Bechtel, as well as a large circle of nieces and nephews. Nona is predeceased by her son, Rickie LaVassaur, August 6, 2005; parents, John and Jenny Park; brothers and sister-in-law: John (Jr.) and Stella Park, Andy and Bridget Park and brother-in-law, John Lovell. Arrangements are being made through Ed Lee Mortuary.
