Passed peacefully away on March 24, 2009 at Brookfield Hospital, Esau Llewellyn Spurrell of Valleyfield at the age of 72 years. Predeceased by parents Sandy and Edith, wives Marion (Jones) and Mary (Stokes/Hillier), brothers Laurence, William, Herbert, Eric, John and twin brother Jacob, sisters Drucella, Maisie, Lydia and Irene. He leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories, his step-children: Mollie Barbour (Wayne), Ellis Hillier, Donna McGrath (Phil) and Valerie Howe (David). Lovingly remembered by his step-grandchildren: Sherri Rowsell (Chad), Lori Barbour (Chad Howell), Andrea Gillespie, Allison O'Keefe (Charlie), Emily and Ashley Howe and stepgreat-grandchildren: Matthew, Julie, Jason and Samantha Rowsell, Joshua Barbour and Katie Barbour-Howell and Caleb Gillespie-Hanlon. Left with lifelong memories, sister Hilda Winsor (Alex) of Delta, Ontario; sisters-in-law: Emma, Effie, Elizabeth and Hattie Spurrell, Clara Howell, Minnie Russell, Greta Stagg, Sybil Hillier (Thomas) and Mary Stokes; brother-in-law William Jones (Myrtle). Esau will be dearly missed by nephews and nieces: Laurence and Carla Feltham, Eric and Randy Humphries, Marjorie Dawe, Edith Tucker, Irene Bell, Paula, John, Lydia, Margaret, Nita, Patricia, Larry, Hubert, Tony and Calvin Spurrell, Jeanette Kennington, Beverley Winsor, Trudy Harvey, Paulette Lally, Diane Winsor, Susan and David Russell, Beverly, Michael and Craig Jones and Fraser and Cheryl Ann Howell. Esau will also be remembered by his large circle of other family members and loving friends. He was a devoted husband and proud step-father, grandfather and uncle, loyal friend and dedicated member of his church. Special thank you to Dr. Busahmen and all the wonderful staff at Brookfield Hospital for their tender care and kindness during his stay there. Also, a special thank you to Pastor Dwayne Mews and Rev. Robin Trevors for their support and kindness. Funeral service took place on Thursday, March 26, 2009 at Grace Pentecostal Tabernacle, Valleyfield with Pastor D. Mews officiating and Rev. R. Trevors assisting. Interment followed from St. Alban's Anglican Cemetery, Badgers Quay. Arrangements entrusted to the care of Kittiwake Funeral Home, Pound Cove/Musgrave Harbour.
