Suddenly at the Kings County Memorial Hospital on Saturday, March 28, 2009, of Jim Acorn of Abney, age 60 years. Loving husband of Verna (nee Gordon) and beloved father of Gordie (Helen), Aurora, Ont.; Mary (Tim Gormley), Charlottetown; and Adam (Sarah Jones), Charlottetown. Grandfather of Caroline. Survived by brothers John (Janet), Sam (Irene), Primrose; and Warren (Bev), Fanningbrook; sisters Laura Dixon, Gaspereaux, and Kathryn Acorn, Kingsboro, and by brothers-in-law Bill (Ella) Gordon, Murray River, and Lowell Gordon, Dover. Also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. Predeceased by parents Chester and Ruth (MacDonald) Acorn and infant brother Donald. Resting at the Southern Kings and Queens Funeral Home, Murray River, for visitation on Wednesday, April 1, from 6-9 p.m. Funeral service on Thursday, April 2, from the Murray Harbour Baptist Church at 10 a.m. Interment in the Acorn Cemetery, Dundas.
