ALLEN, Reagh L. – 76, of Parrsboro, Cumberland Co. passed away Sunday, March 29, 2009 at the Cumberland Regional Health Care Centre, Upper Nappan surrounded by his family. Born in Port Greville, he was a son of the late Ervin and Eva (Bowden) Allen. Known to his co-workers as ‘Thunder’, he worked with Robb Engineering in Amherst for 32 years. He was a hard worker, a devoted husband for 49 years and was a loving father and grandfather. He enjoyed working around the house and his drives ‘down-shore’ but most of all, enjoyed spending time with his family. He will be greatly missed by his wife, the former Jean Trask; a daughter, Lorie (David), Parrsboro; sons, Mitchell (Karen), Maccan; Thearon (Nancy), Oxford; Gordie (Shauna), Truro; sisters, Christena Gould, Amherst; Kathleen Lowther, Barrie, Ont.; 12 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; special nephew, Gordon Coates, Barrie, Ont. He was predeceased by a sister, Ola Rockwell; brother, Leon; a grandson, Tyler; a niece, Donna O’Blenis. At Reagh’s request, his remains have been donated to the Dalhousie Medical Research Foundation. A memorial service will be held 2 p.m. Thursday [April 2, 2009] at Smith’s Funeral Home, Parrsboro, Rev. Greg Doyle officiating.
