Bentley (Perrin) Georgia Aileen - 100, Truro, formerly of Carrs Brook and Burnaby. B. C., passed away peacefully on March 3, 2009. Born in Wyvern, she was the daughter of Emma (Halliday) and Fredrick Perrin.
A graduate of the Provincial Normal College, Georgia taught school throughout Nova Scotia and the Magdelene Islands. As the winner of a Dora M. Baker Scholarship she studied at the University of British Columbia in the summer of 1956. It was here that she met and married Homer Bentley, formerly of Five Islands.
Georgia was a member of the United Church of Canada where she was an active volunteer.
She is survived by son Dr. Kenneth (Shirley) and granddaughters Sasha and Nicolette of Vernon, B.C.; sister Creta Joyce of St. Raymond, Manitoba; several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband Homer; sisters Mary Field, Charlotte Faulkner; brother Cecil.
Cremation has taken place. A memorial service to celebrate her life will be held at 2:00 p.m. April 3 at Cedarstone Enhanced Care, 378 Young Street, Truro. Rev. Sharron Reykdal officiating.
