(Nov. 28, 1925 - Mar. 29, 2009)–Formerly of Dunville, Placentia Bay passed away at the age of 83. Predeceased by parents: Thomas and Margaret; infant twin brother Jack; sisters: Theresa Sullivan, Rita Donnelly, Marie Bursey and Genevieve Newell; daughter-in-law Ruby; sons-in-law: Chuck Carter and Jack Wakeham. He is survived by his devoted wife Louise; son Wayne; daughters: Sharon Zawaski (John), Bernadette Watts (Larry), Madonna Carter, Gail Wakeham, Beverley Byrne; twelve grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; as well as many other nieces, nephews, relatives, friends and associates. Bernard will be remembered for his work as an Electrician and Electrical Contractor. He will also be remembered for his service work for the Parish of Placentia and area for his volunteer work with the Dunville Lions Club, Dunville Volunteer Fire Department and his long service association with the Knights of Columbus as Life Time Honorary Member where he served as a 4th Degree Knight. He will be remembered for his jovial, forthright outgoing personality but most of all for his enduring love of family and devotion to his faith in God. Resting at Barrett’s Funeral Home, 328 Hamilton Avenue on Tuesday and Wednesday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral service will be held from St. Patrick’s Parish on Thursday, April 2, 2009 at 11:30 a.m. Cremation will follow funeral service.
