Isabel Barbara Patterson, 95, of Pictou, and formerly of Lyons Brook, passed away March 30, 2009, in the Shiretown Nursing Home, Pictou.
Born in French River, she was a daughter of the late Norman and Annie Jane (Cameron) Robson.
As a child, she moved to River John. Most of her life was spent in Lyons Brook, where she and her husband operated the family farm. Always a hard worker, she continued to run the farm even with her husband’s declining health. For the last seven years she had been a resident of the Shiretown Nursing Home. She was also a member of the Lyons Brook United Church.
Isabel is survived by her daughter, Mary Jean (Leonard) Henley, Lyons Brook; son, Walter (Cathie), Spruce Grove, Alberta; grandchildren, Robert and Chris (Jodi); great-grandchildren, Johnathan and Maia; brothers: Don, Mississauga; John, Pictou; Eric (Alice), Caribou Island.
She was predeceased by her husband, George; sister, Jean; brother, Bill; son-in-law, Wilson Graham.
Visitation will be held 7-9 p.m. Friday in McLaren Funeral Home, Pictou, from where funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Saturday, with Mary MacDermid officiating. Spring burial will be in Durham Cemetery.
