Emma Margaret Murray

Aged 94 years of Centennial Villa, Amherst, and formerly of Springhill, passed away on Wednesday, April 16, 2008 in Cumberland Regional Health Care Centre, Nappan. Born in Springhill, she was a daughter of the Late Charles J. and Isabella (Price) Allbon. She taught school in Springhill, Amherst and Windsor for a total of 32 years holding the position of principal for three of those years. She was a member, Sunday School Teacher and a member of UCW Unit 3 of St. Andrews-Wesley United Church, Springhill and member of All Saints Hospital Auxiliary, Springhill. Emma was a very family orientated person, who enjoyed crocheting, cross stitch, sewing, playing crib, the beach, travelling, and visiting shut ins. She is survived by a son Charles William Murray Sr. of Collingwood; grandchildren, Heather (Kim) Kinrade of Dartmouth, Crystal Williams of New Glasgow and William "Billy" (Brenda) Murray Jr. of Hammonds Plains; nine great grandchildren; daughter in law, Carol Murray of Dartmouth; many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Arthur Leslie Murray; brothers, James, David, Charlie and Alfred "Ackie"; sisters, Mary, Jane and a sister in infancy. Visitation was held 7 - 9 Friday, April 18, 2008 in A. H. Brown Funeral Home, Springhill. Funeral Service was held 2:00 pm Saturday, April 19, 2008 from St. Andrews-Wesley United Church, Springhill, with The Reverend David Lloyd-Pearce officiating and assisted by The Reverend Glenn MacLean. Burial in Hillside Cemetery, Springhill, at a later date. If so desired, donations to a charity of choice would be appreciated.
