Geraldine Dorothy Gilroy Aged 68 years of Pioneer Street, Springhill, passed away on Saturday, September 6, 2008 in The Dr. George DuMont Hospital, Moncton, N. B.. Born in Springhill, she was a daughter of the Late Floyd Osmond and Mary Agnes "Aggie" (Carde) Gilroy. She was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion and Legion Auxiliary for 33 years. She enjoyed doing ceramics, reading and shopping. She is survived by sons, Bruce (Janet Nicholson) James, Toronto, Rick (Veronica Poplar) James, Springhill and Harold "Hallie" (Nancy) James, Cedar, B. C.; daughters, Beatrice (Doug) Alick and Shirley (Chuck) Symes both of Springhill and Carol Ann (Craig) McCulloch of Vancouver, B. C.; brother, Morton (Mary) Gilroy, Springhill; sisters, Elda (Herbert) Austin, Grand Valley, Ontario, Verna Jean (Peter) MacLeod and Rowena (Arthur) Allen both of Springhill, Dianne Wheaton and Jane (Gordon Sharpe) Terris both of Amherst, Barbara (Murray McCulloch) Lareaux and Gail (John) Russell both of Mississauga, Ontario; twenty two grandchildren and eight great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by brothers, Angus and Russell; infant sister Beatrice. Visitations were held 2 - 4 and 7 - 9 Monday in A. H. Brown Funeral Home, Springhill, from where the Funeral Service was held at 2:00 pm on Tuesday, September 9, 2008 with The Reverend Elizabeth Davies officiating. Burial in Rodney Cemetery, Cumb. Co., N. S. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Canadian Cancer Society or charity of choice would be appreciated.
