Aged 75 years of Junction Road, Springhill, passed away surrounded by his children on Saturday, September 27, 2008 in Gables Lodge, Amherst. Born in Springhill, he was a son of the Late Joseph and Roxanna (Rector) Spence. He worked as an auto-body man in Springhill and Amherst for 42 years. He enjoyed the beach, barbequing, family gatherings and was a devoted father, grandfather and great grandfather. He is survived by sons, Paul (Charlene) Spence of Little Forks, Cumb. Co., and Carson (Wanda) Spence of Oxford; daughters, Carolyn (Carl) Black and Kelly Spence (Rodney Benjamin) both of Springhill and Jane (Gerald) Reid of New Minas; brother, Sidney Spence of Springhill; twelve grandchildren, two great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife the former Geraldine Ann Fisher; brother, Wilfred. Visitation was held 2 - 4 & 7 - 9 Monday, September 29, 2008 in A. H. Brown Funeral Home, Springhill, from where the Funeral Service was held 2:00 pm Tuesday, September 30, 2008 from the Funeral Home with Major Max Snow and The Reverend Beth Mattinson officiating. Burial in Hillside Cemetery, Springhill.
